MTB SKILLS 1

Intro to Core Skills

A one day course, introducing beginners to riding cross country.
Learn to:

  • manage speed and brake efficiently

  • make the most of your gears

  • read and anticipate the trail ahead

  • climb more efficiently

  • descend rough slopes confidently

SUITABLE FOR    those who are riding smooth gravel, railway trails or canal towpaths, or green/easy blue graded runs at trail centres, and want to step up to bridleways and other cross country trails with confidence.

TIMINGS            10.00am start and approx 5.00pm finish. All outside - come dressed for the weather.

VENUE              Peak District for group courses. Private courses on request anywhere in the UK

MTB SKILLS 2

Rougher Stuff

A one day course, which can be booked as a follow on from MTB Skills 1. We will look at building confidence with handling your bike. Learn to:

  • unweight your front wheel over obstacles

  • stall, track-stand and ride slowly to help with control

  • ride through corners more confidently

  • understand simple maintenance

  • plan routes and manage your group's safety

SUITABLE FOR    those who are riding gentle cross country trails or blue graded runs at trail centres, who want to venture on to classic cross country or red trails with a little more bike control and technique

TIMINGS            10.00am start and approx 5.00pm finish. All outside - come dressed for the weather.

VENUE              Peak District or northern trail centres for group courses. Private courses on request anywhere in the UK
