CLIMBING SKILLS 1

Indoor Introduction

A one day, or two evening course, introducing beginners to indoor climbing in a relaxed and informal environment. Learn about:

  • equipment required and how to fit it

  • movement and techniques to get you started

  • safety and how to 'belay' other climbers to prevent falls

  • Understanding grades and other jargon

SUITABLE FOR    families, friends or couples who’d like to learn to climb together safely and independently.

TIMINGS            10.00am start and approx 5.00pm finish, or 6.00pm start and approx 9.30pm finish over two weeks. 

VENUE              North West Climbing walls for group courses. Private courses on request anywhere in the UK.

CLIMBING SKILLS 2

From Resin to Rock

A one day course, introducing indoor climbers to climbing on rock.

Learn about:

  • Reading route guides and finding appropriate climbs

  • Movement skills and techniques on rock, how they differ to indoors

  • Belaying at the top and bottom of a climb

SUITABLE FOR    families, friends or couples who already climb and would like to experience outdoor rock climbing.

TIMINGS            10.00am start and approx 5.00pm finish. 

VENUE              Peak District venues for group courses. Private courses on request anywhere in the UK.

CLIMBING SKILLS 3

Indoor Lead Climbing

A one day, or two evening course, introducing regular climbers to indoor lead climbing. Learn about:

  • how to clip bolts efficiently and safely

  • how to lead belay a partner

  • lowering off safely

  • taking, and belaying, falls

SUITABLE FOR    families, friends or couples who already climb on top rope and would like to take the next step

TIMINGS            10.00am start and approx 5.00pm finish, or 6.00pm start and approx 9.30pm finish over two weeks.
